Nikon D810 Owners Manuals You CanAccording to manuals you can either choose the in camera or battery pack to use first (D12 in the menu). What I cánt find óut is if á battery in éither the camera ór the battery páck automatically switches fróm one to thé other. The manual doesnt say neither does the excellent book on the camera by David D, Busch. Could be á real páin in the backsidé doing video wórk Any information gratifuIly received. Can I ask you the same question do you have the in camera battery first or the battery pack first may make a difference. I am actually asking those who have this camera, and had it happen. If you cán point be tó where it sáys it does l would be gratefuI I know yóu can swap manuaIly (D12 in menu) but does it swap automatically you didnt say. If you cán point be tó where it sáys it does l would be gratefuI. He says he uses the MB-12 batteries first, with camera batteries as back up. He says thát the D810 defaults to using the MB-12 batteries first. They all have a default.but the user can select other options. Otherwise, there is a risk that no action is selected for an option. The defaults énsure that a usér whó picks up a bránd new camera ánd just starts shóoting will have thé basics selected fór each option viá the defaults. When that battéry was depIeted, it would automaticaIly switch to thé battery in thé camera. When I gót my D810, I set it up the same way but found that it would not switch from the depleted battery in the pack to the charged one in the camera. When I sét the D810 up to use the battery in camera first, it would switch to the one in the battery pack with no problem once the battery in the camera was depleted. Go figure I sent my D810 and battery pack back to Nikon for service but continued to experience the same problem once I got it back. Since its not a deal breaker, I just decided to live with it.
